Outstation participants will be paid the round trip 3-Tier AC return train fare by the shortest route from the railway station nearest to their place of residence (this is taken as the address for correspondence given in your application; any different address needs prior permission) to Mumbai. Those travelling by air will be paid the eligible train fare.
Please note that you are required to submit the original of your onward journey ticket and copy of your return journey ticket along with the travel reimbursement form when you arrive for the program. Participants travelling by air and claiming travel reimbursement will be required to produce the air ticket and the boarding pass.
Participants will also be provided accommodation on-campus in the institute guest house and the student hostel (on a twin-sharing basis). Please note the following arrival and departure windows.
The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 14th July 2024 at the guest house (Allow 45 min travel time from CSMT railway station to TIFR, and 1h 30m travel time from the Mumbai airport to TIFR).
The participants are expected to vacate their rooms on Saturday 27th July 2024 before 0900 hrs. However, there will be a place to store the luggage on that day.
Food expenses will also be taken care of by TIFR (most likely via coupons that can be used for meals in the canteens).
Take your taxi to Ramanujan Guest House (GH). Ask it to wait while you check in at the GH reception. VV accommodation is either in the Ramanujan GH, or in a nearby Hostel (Patanjali). Your taxi can take you and your luggage to Patanjali (approx. 150 m from the GH) if needed.
